Bible Studies

Tuesday Morning Study & Coffee  Join us every Tuesday morning from September to June for an hour of study and fellowship, followed by coffee and conversation. We have a great time
together studying various books of the Bible and themes of our faith as we seek to grow in understanding and commitment as to what it means to be Christ's people within the world. This is not the group for stuffy people, we enjoy plenty of laughter with open conversation. For those digging into the Bible for the first time, and those who have been doing it all their lives.

Everyone is welcome!

Library

Our Robert Cochrane Library stocks many of the latest books. Many people take advantage of the recently catalogued and reorganized facility to seek spiritual guidance and help in a self-directed way. Our Library Team is available to assist those needing guidance.

Fellowship

Knox-Crest-small.JPG (18437 bytes)

Beyond the various groups in which people may participate, Knox offers several congregational opportunities for fellowship.
  • A Time for Friendship and Refreshment every Sunday before morning worship – meet in the banquet hall around 10:30 to enjoy a cup of coffee and some good fellowship.
  • Koffee Klatch: On Thursday mornings anyone who wants to meet for coffee with plenty of jokes & laughter

Music

Senior Choir   Knox has a great award-winning choir under the leadership of Suzanne Strahan. They practice on Thursday nights and participate in all of Knox's services. They offer a diversity of musical selections - contemporary and classical, toe-tapping and hand clapping to moving and meditative. But you don’t need to be a classically trained singer to take part – the choir is looking for anyone with enthusiasm and joy for music.

Church School

Knox-Crest-small.JPG (18437 bytes)

We are blessed with young families and plenty of children at Knox. We use the rotational workshop model for church school. For example, a child may choose between cooking Pharaoh's bricks, dramatizing the story of Moses, watching a video to gain an overview of the Hebrew escape from the Egyptians or working at the computer to understand more about the same story. The children enjoy singing and sincere care from teachers who are committed to share the faith in a way that is age-appropriate and interesting.

Youth Group

Knox-Crest-small.JPG (18437 bytes) The Lighthouse

On Sunday mornings we have a youth class who study many contemporary issues and the Bible's relevance to their life's journey.

The group also gathers for fun events and activities as time permits in the busy schedules of youth.  On occasion we offer one-time events for youth such as coffee houses and retreats.

Nursery

Knox-Crest-small.JPG (18437 bytes)

Our little ones matter to us, our well-equipped and well-monitored nursery can be found on the second floor of our Sunday School wing. We strive to provide a safe, welcoming
environment for your infant or toddler while you enjoy worship. Knox Church is a 'Leading with Care' congregation - meaning that we have taken seriously the safety of our children, and are instituting policies and procedures to ensure the safety and security of every child under our care. Each time a child is baptized we send a gift to Sleeping Children Around the World on their behalf. www.scaw.org

Mary, Martha and Gordon WMS   This group meets once a month with speakers and study topics related to mission concerns. They also carry out activities to raise funds for worthy causes such as a Ham Supper for our Malawi Orphans project.

Embroidery Guild  This group has done exceptional work in designing and making needle-pointed covers for the furniture in the sanctuary and throughout the church. It is a work of art worth learning and seeing. The group has a great time together fellow-shipping while stitching. Others bring their knitting or sewing. The group presently is helping to write a new history of Knox and keeps the memorial book up to date.

Joint Mission Team  This is a group made up of members from both St. Andrew's and Knox Church who are working together to develop projects, educate, and raise funds for various missions both locally and globally. This past year, the team has raised over $25,000 for Habitat for Humanity, and has provided funding to dig more wells in Malawi. The team host numerous fundraisers - call the church office for the next scheduled event.

Sleeping Children Around the World We are constantly sending funds to this organization which seeks to provide children in poverty with a basic bed kit. Every time a baby is baptized or an elder or long-term volunteer retires, we donate a kit in their name.
