How We are Organized |
Session |
The congregational leadership is provided by the professional clergy working side by side with elected leaders called Elders, who provide spiritual guidance, pastoral care, and a vision for ministry and mission. Elders partake of regular training times to increase their gifts and skills for ministry, including, active listening, caring for those in need, visioning, ministry of encouragement, and more. Our session is made up of 30 elders working closely with our Minister to provide care and support for our congregation. |
Board of Managers |
| The purpose of the Board of Managers is responsible oversight of the temporal and financial affairs of the congregation. The Board’s duties include: disburse all moneys received in support of the congregation’s total ministry (mission and ministry), care for the place of worship ensuring it is kept in good condition and repair, provide for the payment of the minister’s stipend and other salaries, appointment and oversight of the church custodian. The Board does much of its work through sub-committees covering such areas as Personnel, building rentals, finance and budget, and property and maintenance. | |
Trustees |
The congregation appoints trustees each year at its annual congregational meeting to insure that investments and policies regarding such are sound and aligned with the long-term goals of the congregation. |
| Congregational Meetings and Forums | |
| When major decisions are to be made regarding the life and philosophy of the congregation, congregational meetings are held. Members vote on the subjects at hand. We also conduct Forums periodically that provide opportunities to keep the congregation informed, to ask pertinent questions and to discuss matters that may later come to a congregational meeting. | |
